Transmute Era (Aluminium)

2017 - 3D printed PLA and cast aluminium

'Transmute Era' evolved into a series of works that pit molten metal against 3D printed PLA. I invested Era, the subject of this series, into Mansfield sand and poured a little bit of molten aluminium into the head. The result was a piece of aluminium being fused to the model. This sculpture was longlisted for the Lumen prize in Digital Art in 2018.
